Reza Bigonah's paintings reflect something personal and inspired by the diverse landscapes of Ontario and Cape Breton Island in NS.

In every painting he strives to understand the laws of nature and how light functions. His goal for every painting is to achieve a convincing sense of reality while his body of paintings are comprised of strong bold lines and geometric form that is coupled with an emphasis on space.

He works primarily with acrylic on canvas. Through a combination of unique, geometric shapes and vibrant color palette create depth and patterns of light.

Reza believes the responsibility of the artist is to make a unique experience for himself and the viewer. He wants his work to push and pull, to “feel” like inert colored mud, but to open onto a vision that conveys movement, distance and atmosphere. His paintings invite the viewer into a unique, nostalgic world of imaginative imagery. It is part of the journey of understanding the self and the life we are living. He tries to make each piece of art a unique fusion of design, color, form and composition.

His recent works are inspired by complex color relationships and flat bold interactions of shape and design that create a futuristic-retro aesthetic, with poetic hints of storytelling in each piece.

His art has been sold internationally, and frequently hangs in galleries around the world.
